Meet Mike

Hey – I’m Mike, the founder of TRAX. I’m 31, based in Munich, and have been chasing waves for most of my adult life. I fell in love with surfing during a 3-year stint in California as a teenager, and ever since, I’ve been structuring vacations, weekends, and more than a few early mornings around getting in the water.

For the past decade, I worked in finance – advising founders, evaluating investment opportunities, and helping companies scale. It was fast-paced and intense, but it always felt like something was missing. Surfing became my outlet, but living far from the ocean made that hard. I’d fly somewhere, surf for a week or two, come back... and feel like I had to start over the next time.

That frustration eventually turned into an idea: What if there was a better way to track how you’re progressing – something that goes beyond wave count or GPS maps? What if your surf sessions could actually teach you something?

That’s how TRAX was born.

I’m not trying to build another toy. I’m building a tool that I wish I had years ago – something that can help surfers train smarter, improve faster, and make the most of every session, regardless of whether they surf every day or twice a year.

TRAX is still in development, but the momentum is building. I’ve assembled a small group of testers, partnered with engineers and designers, and put together a plan to bring this to life – step by step, with a clear focus on what matters to surfers who want to progress.

If that sounds like you, I’d love to have you along for the ride.
